Writing from the difficult place of prison to his protege, Timothy, in a difficult situation of church conflict, the Apostle Paul charged him:
"Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions," (2 Timothy 4:2-3)
CCC's desire is that our people would be "P.O.W's." Not "prisoners of war" in the conflict between truth and error, but "People Of the Word." Sadly, often when churches set their focus on right teaching and biblical accuracy they become inwardly focused and legalistic. Too often God's people become M.I.A - "missing in action." But just the opposite is supposed to happen. The study of God's word is supposed to make us more "ready" for action, "in season and out of season." The church (and the world!) needs true M.I.A.'s - "Men In Action" who are trained in God's word to lead God's people in being grounded in God's Word and ready to impact God's world.
So, we invite the men of CCC to join us monthly for Readiness Training in God's Word, the Scriptures. We will be employing the 8 "Dig and Discover" Hermeneutical Principles outlined by Leadership Resources International (a global training ministry with which we partner) as we tackle one book of the Bible at a time, passage by passage, identifying God's intended message and intended response from us. As we apply that message and respond as God intended, we anticipate God's word will transform us into Men In Action like Jesus who continues to transform the world through his people.

Each week on Tuesday & Thursday from 6-8:30 PM our people gather in one of two homes for a meal, prayer, a study in the Bible, and just to enjoy each other's company in what we call "Gospel Communities." Once a month these home-based neighborhood fellowships reach out to the city by doing things like picnicking in a neighborhood park, having a BBQ with neighbors, Backyard Kids' Club, or seeking a practical way to serve and love our city well together. All are welcome. If you would like to drop in for one of these informal gatherings please call Pastor Jonathan at (313) 720-3031 for locations.
"And when you pray..." - Jesus
Every Tuesday morning men are invited to gather for prayer at a local Dearborn Home. Come and pray for each other and the city. Call or e-mail Pastor Jonathan for location and/or for relaying prayer requests: 313-720-3031 / email@example.com

We are making our way through a series in the books of 1 & 2 Samuel. You can listen to past messages via the Soundcloud link below.

Please pray for the development of CCC's leadership and visionaries as we gather together and with God to pray, study, and plan for CCC's future. Some of the resources we have been using include...
So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. 1Peter 5:1-4
