This ancient document is the most excellent epitome of the things most surely believed among us. It is not issued as an authoritative rule or code of faith, whereby you may be fettered, but as a means of edification in righteousness. It is an excellent, though not inspired, expression of the teaching of those Holy Scriptures by which all confessions are to be measured. We hold to the humbling truths of God’s sovereign grace in the salvation of lost sinners. Salvation is through Christ alone and by faith alone
— Charles Haddon Spurgeon

What does it mean for CCC to "subscribe" to this old document called the London Baptist Confession of 1689?

Basically, it means that this document outlines the way we understand and teach the Bible. It means that our leadership uses this confession to help us understand the way the Bible shapes and defines our thinking, our believing, and our living together as Christ's church. Individual personal subscription to all that is said in this document is not required for "membership" with CCC. For people to become members (what we like to call "covenant family") we simply ask that baptized believers are able to affirm our Converge Worldwide Statement of Faith and agree to our Covenant of Fellowship. However, we do require subscription to the 1689 for those in leadership, specifically, for those serving as  "teaching/preaching elders."
